  1. She just blanked on the word. I’m unable to breastfeed, which is a huge bummer and I could tell she just forgot the word-happens to me all the time. She even mentions it in the comments.

  2. Thanks so much for sharing these tips. We are going to have to travel quite a bit in the next couple of months, not looking forward to it with my 12 month old but these tips really make me feel a little less stressed:-)

  3. Thank you for the tips. We are making our 1st 19hour road trip this coming March with our 16 month old (fingers crossed lol)

Don’t be nervous!!! Breastfeeding makes it easy! It’s the ideal food AND breastfeeding during take off and landing will help keep your babies ears open! I’ve traveled with both of my children when they were that age, always without a problem. Wear comfy clothes and bring a change of clothes for yourself and baby (in case of spit-up, leaky diaper, etc). If you’re calm and happy, baby will be too. Remember to keep hydrated and get up and stretch when needed. 6 hours isn’t a very long flight, baby will likely sleep a good portion of that. For the awake time, make sure you have some of his/her favorite things to play with, look at and chew on. I used to wear a teething necklace which helped a lot. Bring wipes that can be used on food surfaces (I like 7th Generation) to use on toys and teethers…or in the tiny plane bathroom! Traveling is wonderful, enjoy it!

  5. Hi WEELICIOUS!
What tips might you give a breastfeeding mom on a 6hour long flight. I feel so nervous , My baby is bordering 6months and still on exclusive breastfeeding
I welcome ideas from other moms in the house
    Thanks…

The sweet potato was already cooked right?
Can I use the baby boot to grind the brown rice/oats?

  7. My little man and I are making our first plane trip together soon. I’m so nervous! To make it worse, I’ve only been on a plane a couple times and I’m not real familiar with everything. I’m doing tons of research for tips and this video definitely helps a lot!

  8. Hi Catherine! Think what you are doing is great.. fab ideas for new Mums like myself, gave me new ideas of what to make for baby. I especially like the non fuss, healthy option of food you have suggested for baby whilst travelling.

    THANKU

  9. Is that the same for oatmeal? Do I need the powder mixture and then add breast milk or do I have to cook the oatmeal in water first and then add breast milk?

  10. My baby will be 9 months when we travel to appx. 4 hours away by plane to snow ski. This is very helpful for the plane ride; however, I am concerned about staying in a hotel suite for a week with baby…there is a grocery store nearby, so I’m seriously thinking about bringing my immersion blender. I don’t know whether to try this or just bite the bullet and purchase store-bought? Any ideas or tips?

  12. A few weeks ago I recently traveled from Denver to London with my 9 mo son. I often try and feed him foods that I make fresh but traveling I didn’t want the mess or foods to get funky. So I purchased those fruits and veggies in the pouches and they worked wonderfully. If you are opposed to using store bought baby food, you can actually package the food you make. There’s a product called Squooshi that I love. You could throw them in the freezer before you go so they keep a little longer. Security was no issue, I just had to open the pouches so they could test it, which all they did was hold a test strip above the pouch opening, didn’t touch the food or package at all.

  13. Most international travel they will allow fruits and veggie for the baBy/toddler. (Within reason). I travelled to India when my son was 4 1/2 mo and 3 yrs and i was able to carry grapes apple orange cherry and banana. My sis in law traveled (2 yr old) from India and was able to bring 3 mangoes and a couple if other fruits into US.

  14. I think that will depend what country you are traveling to. Your best bet is to look up what food restrictions the flight and receiving country have and make your plans around that!

  15. I don’t believe that Catherine meant anything by the formula comment. It isn’t that crazy to know a word, have it on the tip of your tongue, and completely lose what it is — even if it is a common word or one you have used OFTEN. Most people now realize that some moms are not able to breastfeed. I am one of those. I admit that I do take offense to some things that people say — like stating that a mom is lazy if they are using formula. That isn’t the case at all. I don’t “choose” to use formula — I have to use it. I am unable to breastfeed – and I know I am not the only one. However, this is NOT one of those things I take offense to. This was a brain fart! 🙂 Catherine, question — do you have tips for traveling internationally? I know restrictions on food (fruit especially) is different. Any ideas?

  16. Bananas are a lifesaver when I am traveling with my 9 month old. I actually found it easier to pull 1 strip of peel off and scrape the meat directly from the banana with a spoon. This pureed it adequately without needing to dirty a fork and bowl (and carry it around with you). Now that my boy is older, I massage the banana a little in the peel to soften it up before opening and he can just bite (or gum, since he doesn’t have teeth yet!) off what he wants. Throw away the peel when your done and your left with no dirty utensils!

  17. Oh dear, this video is in no way meant to offend or put down anyone. I am fully aware of the trials of motherhood. Some women can’t or don’t breastfeed and I am in no way implying they are wrong or bad. This is simply a helpful list to hopefully make the lives of moms easier! I am so sorry that you took offense to my momentary memory loss. It happens to all us moms, right? Hence the term “mom brain” haha! I hope you can forgive and remain a part of our weelicious family!

  18. I’m actually a breastfeeding mom and I agree with the above poster Kim. That’s a way to offend 1/2 the people who might be on this site.

  19. Hi! Where did you buy the non-plastic orange container that you showed on the video? I am hunting this kind and did not find it. I have a 12 hour flight with my 10 month-old baby coming up, and i appreciate your help.Thank you for these awesome tips!

  20. Wow, Kim, let’s cut Catherine some slack. She wasn’t implying anything by forgetting the word formula (we ALL do that, especially with baby brain and sleep deprivation). I appreciate her doing these videos and can sympathize as a mother that no one is perfect, especially if you aren’t familiar with a product. I personally never used formula, so maybe I would forget it, too! Thank you Catherine, and ignore the negativity!! 🙂

  21. I’m a formula Mom and I in NO WAY took offense to her forgetting the word formula. In fact, I scrolled down to the comments to leave her a note thanking her for leaving that in and not editing it. The forgetfulness that lasts after pregnancy is such an ongoing frustration to me and it’s nice to know that I’m not alone. At work, male co-workers assume I’m either trying to come up with an unnecessarily fancy word, or that I’m faking forgetfulness by trying to come up with a word as simple as “formula”. It’s frustrating and embarrassing. The least we Moms can do is stick together and support each other. Let’s try to give each other the benefit of the doubt before assuming someone has malicious intent.

  22. Oh no! I hope you’re not truly offended. As you can see I had a tiny child at the time and that was a complete brain fart, for lack of a better phrase! I honestly forgot the word in the moment. I fully understand that some women are not able to breast feed and am putting anyone down at all. I simply want to provide other overwhelmed moms (like myself) some ideas to make life a little easier with wee ones!

  23. I find this woman to be very condescending and ignorant with her “formula” comment. Some people cannot breast feed for a wide variety of reasons and her “forgetting what the word formula is” is absolutely obnoxious. this is my first time to this site and I found this topic interesting but I am already turned off. I recommend you consider editing this video to take out this clip.

  24. This is definitely one of the better sources of information I have found on this topic. Have you looked into the opposite side of the argument of travel tips? Personally, I think a good case could be made either way, but please let me know if you have any more sites or articles on the Internet to verify what you are discussing.

  25. Hi

Sorry if this is a silly question, but just wondering if you actually have printable versions of your video contents/recipes?

Thanks very much in advance for your help…your website has been an inspiration and lifesaver 😉

  26. I’m getting ready to go on a trip was sweating bullets trying to think just what I’ll be able to bring along, other than dry baby cereal. Neat idea with the banana and avocado! Thanks for the tips.

I’m a huge fan of this blog.
