Weelicious mamas offering up their favorite sandwich recipes made it REALLY tough to pick 10 winners. There were so many amazing ideas I only wish I had more prizes to give out.
Here's the list of my Top 10, who all have won LunchBots containers to put their delicious creations in!
Brandi: "Chickpeas chopped in a food processor, not pureed still chunky, mixed with mayo and relish and served on toasted wheat bread. Sort of a faux tuna sandwich."
Drea: "Fresh basil, sundried tomatoes in oil & provelone on sour dough, grilled-cheese style. Simple, pretty, tasty, healthy!"
Amy: "We love pesto chicken salad sandwiches in a whole wheat pita pocket with avocado and tomatoes!!"
Sarah: "Red pepper hummus, lettuce, tomato, turkey & cucummber on a whole wheat tortilla, rolled up and cut into pinwheels."
Rosemary Brown: "Chicken (usually pulled of a chicken from the night before), salsa, black beans, avacado and cheese. Sometimes we toast the bread, sometimes not. It gets messy and often falls of the sandwich, but it’s still good!"
Jenny: "We go crazy for curried chicken salad with lots of good stuff in it – grapes, celery, onion, even raisins sometimes! Delicious on whole wheat/multigrain."
Shawn: "1. Soften cream cheese mix with cinnamon. 2. Spread on tortillas 3. Spread strawberry, raspberry (whatever kids like). 4.Roll up and slice."
Sky Mommy: "Whole peeled banana wrapped in a whole grain wrap with honey and almond butter (my daughter calls this a Monkey’s Lunch)."
Joanna: "Nutella and cream cheese on wheat bread – yummy!"
Jen: "A favorite for my vegetarian daughter is a whole wheat mini pita pocket slathered with hummus and layered with Romaine, cucumber, tomato, green pepper, onion, pickles, jalapenos, and black olives. The mini pitas are perfect for a slice or two of each vegetable."
