Over the past few years I have had the pleasure of working with Yvette Garfield, the creator of Handstand Kids, a cookbook series that introduces children to the culture, language and cuisine of different countries. The books are populated with a group of engaging characters who lead your kids on an international journey of food and learning. Ultimately, the series is all about nutrition and kid empowerment and I love that. Kenya and Chloe do too. They are so attached to their Handstand Kids books that they actually ask my husband and I to read them from them at bedtime. Cookbooks at bedtime!
Each book is filled with vibrant illustrations and comes with a kitchen cooking accessory to help introduce little future chefs to a wide array of easy to prepare recipes. The kids and I cook frequently from the Mexican and Chinese books, making recipes they've both totally gotten into.
I've also received the distinguished honor of being named the Handstand Kids ambassador this month, which is cool because they are so committed to children's causes like ending childhood hunger in America (I wish Kenya and Chloe knew what an ambassador is, then they'd really know how cool I am). To celebrate Yvette is offering five weelicious families the opportunity to win Handstand Kids new Italian Cookbook Kit which comes with a chef's hat and comes packaged in a pizza box. I can't tell you how many times I've been offered pizza by Kenya in the past few days since we got ours in the mail.
To enter, just leave a comment below telling me what you like to put on your pizza. The lucky winners will be chosen at random and notified next week.
