Love this idea. I’ve tried this with peanut butter before and it is like a chocolate peanut butter cup icecream!

In the video you mention that it is dairy free, however, you add yoghurt? I just wanted to bring to your attention. Peanut butter or any nut butter would be a good substitution for the yoghurt.

    Love your ideas!!

Thanks for the correction note! I apoologize if I posted after you put it up! It looks delish… I was kind of hoping I was wrong about Greek yogurt being dairy. :)

Thanks for the correction note! I watched the video, then did the reading on it.
This does look heavenly. If I wasn’t allergic to fruit, I’d be munching on this right now!

So a few weeks ago, The Biggest Loser had a section where the contestants made a Yo-plait Chocolate Banana Smoothie (from their frozen mix). I looked at the product in the store, but couldn’t bring myself to pay the price for a few frozen bananas and chocolate chip pieces. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make it on my own. NOW I’ve got your video lesson!!! Thanks for sharing! This is exactly what I’m looking for!!

Made this last night, didn’t have coco powder, so used chocolate chips and the kids and hubby loved it. I want to try with the coco powder also. Our bananas where frozen with the peel on, so I just set them on the counter for a few minutes and used a pairing knife to cut the peel off.

We freeze bananas like this all the time for banana bread and banana muffins – just defrost and cut the end off and ripe, ready to mash banana just squeezes right out of the peel!

    Thanks Catherine, love your site!

I’m also confused as to how this recipe is non-dairy when you use Greek yogurt.

I like the idea, thx for showing it with the vita mix. I often create milkshakes with it. (by accident). I was wondering how it tastes with true non dairy, maybe almond milk? Coconut? The video is a bit hard to follow with so many distractions/interruptions… Sorry :(

You say a few times in the video that these are non-dairy, but then you have greek yogurt as an ingredient. Have you tried it with soy yogurt, or can I just leave the yogurt out completely and still get good results?
