Preparing school lunch for your kids day in and day out can be a challenge for even the most creative of moms. When I ask parents what's the biggest stress of their day -- expecting the response to be either "bed time" or "juggling busy schedules" -- more often than not their answer is "school lunch". In particular, coming up with balanced, nutritious, and delicious meals their kids want to eat.
I recently joined forces with Odwalla to pair some of my favorite simple school lunch ideas with their line of Smoothies For Kids (which fit perfectly in a lunch box, by the way). This video will show you how to make a few of these recipes my kids adore: Banana Dog Bites, Mixed Berries, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds and Cucumber Slices. This lunch is a great complement to the Odwalla Smoothies which come in three fun flavors: Grape Berry Prairie, Mango Pineapple Island or Strawberry Banana Jungle. They're all gluten-free, with no sugar added and come in single serving 6.75 ounce containers along with a straw to add to the fun factor.
If you have any of your own cool school lunch tips, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment below and tell me about them!
