I love cooking. The simple act of being in the kitchen preparing a meal for my family is a truly pleasurable experience for me. The problem is all the time and effort it takes just to get to the cooking part: getting in the car with the kids, heading to the market, shopping, carrying the bags into the house, unloading, measuring, chopping...you get my drift. Well, never feel guilty admitting that you don't have enough time to cook. I get it, and I really admire people who can regularly pull off a homemade meal given their busy lives.
Back when I was redesigning the weelicious website, I did a poll on our Facebook fan page asking what readers most wanted from a new site. A home delivery option was at the top of the list for many of you.
I was introduced to Plated over the holidays and blown away by the results. Plated is a New York-based gourmet delivery service that is currently available in the Northeast from Washington DC to Boston (those of us here on the west coast should cry for and beg Plated to come out west ASAP!). Plated sent me a box of ingredients, along with easy to follow recipe cards which allowed me to quickly prepare simple and delicious meals for my family in under 30 minutes. I'm always dubious of someone else doing my food shopping, but the ingredients were fresh and I can't tell you what a relief it was to open the fridge and have everything I needed for each recipe all ready to go. Genius!
Weelicious has teamed up with Plated to deliver ready-to-cook Weelicious meals to your doorstep. Starting today, you can choose from five of my favorite weelicious recipes for the season. All meals are ordered in 2 portions, and come with all the ingredients and preparation instructions. I chose these five recipes not only for their big flavors and seasonal ingredients, but also for the fact that they're healthy and your kids will dig them as much as you do.
How it works:
You have six days -- - until next Wednesday, January 23rd -- to place your order online at Plated.com. Your meals will arrive at your home on Tuesday, January 29.
Now I just need to find someone to come over and do all the dishes!
