No recipe — what?! Well, don’t be upset because this is one of the cutest ideas for school lunch that I’ve ever seen. You know those plastic Easter eggs you’ve got that are probably stored in your house somewhere just waiting to be used once a year? Here’s a cool new way to use them for school lunch. Just fill each egg with a variety of different foods, pack them up, and come lunchtime your kids can open them up for edible surprise after edible surprise. Here are a few of our favorite things to stuff them with-

* cheese cubes
* olives
* berries
* almonds, pistachios, walnuts, roast sunflower seeds or cashews
* whole grain crackers
* raisins, dried cherries, cranberries or other dried fruit
* turkey or ham cubes
* edamame
* cooked pasta

The variety of foods you could fill this lunch with are truly endless. Just think of anything bite-sized that your children adore and I promise you, they will be absolutely thrilled.

Another fun way to pack this lunch is to have your kids make them with you. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it forever, having your children take part in deciding what they want to eat is so helpful in getting them to eat more nourishing foods. There’s something so empowering about the decision making process that can give them such joy and pride! It’s a beautiful thing to watch your little ones develop new tastes for foods that are nutritious and delicious!
