One of the strongest childhood food memories I have was watching my mom bake her seriously addictive pecan-topped Cheddar Crackers in the months leading up to Christmas. She would bake and freeze them by the hundreds and store them in decorative tins to give to my teachers and our friends and neighbors. Once my teens I asked her why she made them year after year.
People look forward to them, was her reply.
How right she was.
That's why this year my mom is my holiday hero. I have so much appreciation for all of the hard work, time and passion she put into that one special recipe which she was able to share with others who looked as forward to them as much as I did.
I've made a ton of holiday gifts in reusable jars to give this year and one of my favorites is this Double Chocolatey Hot Cocoa in a Jar. It's not only simple and pretty to look at, but a delicious way to say thank you to those you love and appreciate!
