How to Make French Toast Sticks VIDEO

Share

French toast was one of the first recipes I learned to make as a kid. I loved getting to crack the eggs, whisk them up with some milk, sprinkle in cinnamon and then dip the thick slices of bread into the creamy mixture before searing them to a golden brown. Since I had memorized the recipe (not too tough with that few ingredients) and eventually perfected it, I felt like a true cook at an early age.

When Kenya was a toddler I started making him french toast sticks as a way for him to work on his fine motor skills while eating. It was so much fun for me to watch the pride he took figuring out how to dip the sticks in his little dish of maple syrup and then munch away. That recipe quickly turned into a treasured meal that, all these years later, everyone in our family still looks forward to it when I make it. It's a fun twist on a beloved breakfast food which is a perfect addition to your morning rotation since you likely will have all of the ingredients on hand.
