What happens when you get invited to a Mother's Day brunch party at the home of Rip + Tan founder, Jenni Kane? A whole lot of fun with a bunch of mommies and kids cooking easy recipes that even little kids can pull off, that's what!
Our host Jenni is the ultimate Virgo. She does it all: accomplished furniture, home and clothing designer (I'm obsessed with her classic American sportswear); founder of the amazing recipe, home and design site Rip + Tan; and mother (could her daughter, Ripley, above, be any cuter or look more excited working on her parfait?), wife and all around dynamic wonder woman who makes everything happening in her sphere appear seamless and beautiful. After taking just one step in the home she literally designed herself from ground up, I immediately felt at ease and peaceful. It was the beginning of a great morning….
Within minutes of arriving we started prepping and let the kids get to work cooking.
After the kids finished building their Strawberry Parfaits, we lined them up….before they were gobbled up!
You should have seen Chloe adding all the smoothie ingredients into the Vitamix. She put her own twist on things, adding twice the amount of kale the recipe called for. Suffice to say the kids definitely got their share of iron for the day!
Thank goodness (for me) there was plenty of sharing!
Chloe and Jenni's sweet son, Tanner, giggling while making Tastes Like Ice Cream Smoothies!
It's easy being green: Francesca does some taste testing.
Charlotte and Edie skewering their French Toast on a Stick -- which subsequently got dipped into plenty of maple syrup.
Trays were set up filled with all the food the kids made for our Mother's day brunch, complete with adorable personalized cards from Minted featuring each of their pictures on them. I'm obsessed with the ones we had made below which feature a snapshot from our family's spring break trip to New York.
Jenni's interpretation of Happy Eggs -- using avocado for the mouth -- was a big score.
That's just a taste of the wonderful time we had. Hopefully someone is going to spoil you this well on Mother's Day with yummy food, lots of fun and tons of hugs and kisses!
