  1. I bought the 1/2 gallon pickling ball jars, and that is what I put my beans and rice in and pasta. Glass and everything looks so pretty. You can get a set of 6 at Ace Hardware for a pretty good price.

  2. oh and I buy the BPA free plastic containers that come in all shapes and sizes – Snapware.

  3. I do this for all of my flour/beans/rice etc and also tape the instructions as well as the name of the item. Great tip 🙂

  4. thanks for posting this tip – after I read about using jars for storage (since I haven’t seen oxo containers where I live) I started organizing my cupboards! I have a bunch of jars, so this is such a great way to use them and tidy things up!

  5. I do the same thing with glass jars from nut butter, honey from the the farmer’s market, jam, whatever. BPA in plastic freaks me out. For storage, Target has a very inexpensive line or I like Crate and Barrel.

  6. I like to use glass jars after soaking labels off. fresh lids are inexpensive to buy for mason jars. Glass is free and healthier than plastic…and that to me is even more beautiful.

  7. I have a few of them already and love them! Yes, they are a little pricey. So, I usually buy them one at a time.

  8. Fingers crossed they will do a giveaway. I’ll work on it. Their containers are amazing for storage!

  9. I love this idea! I have always loved the idea of the OXO containers, but they are a little expensive. Any chance you might have a give away for them coming up?!
