If there’s one thing we love to do on the weekends it’s watch movies and TV programs together as a family and munch on popcorn. I generally make big bowls of popcorn to share while we watch as that’s our most beloved go-to snack and has become a family tradition. I’ve been using coconut oil more often lately as it can be used when cooking foods at a high temperature and imparts a slight coconut flavor. The real game changer in this recipe, though, is sprinkling the popcorn with nutritional yeast before serving. It’s packed with B vitamins and has a really cheesy flavor. If you’ve never made popcorn in this way I highly recommend it!

Now that the popcorn is made it’s time to pick something we’ll all enjoy. We’re all big Jim Henson fans. Some of my greatest memories were watching the Muppets and now Kenya and Chloe have followed in my footsteps watching marathons of the Muppets. When Lifetime approached me about creating a kid-friendly dish with a little help from his most recent creatures I couldn’t say no. The kids and I absolutely loved spending time with Zorp and the gang making this popcorn and we all got a huge laugh out of it. Who knew they were so talented in the kitchen!?

  1. Hi. I use an air popper to make popcorn and usually jut serve it ‘as is ‘ – no butter, no nothing, and my three little people love it (none the wiser to butter/salt for now). However, as vegetarians, i love the idea of adding nutritional yeast as you suggested, for a nutritional boost. Any suggestions for how to do this with air pooped corn?
