Gemma has been on a big frozen berry kick. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked in on her in the kitchen eating frozen raspberries right out of the bag! I don’t blame her, they’re absolutely delicious, and since raspberries are packed with tons of fiber and other other vitamins and minerals I don’t mind her sneaking some healthy berries every so often.

Inspired by Gemma’s frozen berry obsession, I had her help me come up with this Double Berry Smoothie recipe. It’s simple (only a few main ingredients), but ends up super creamy and delicious. Along with Gemma’s favorite frozen raspberries, we added frozen strawberries, half a banana and some super boosts like vanilla protein powder and collagen peptides. We whizzed it up in the blender and after her first sip she declared it her new favorite smoothie!

If you have a tough time getting your kids to eat certain foods, try giving them some autonomy in the kitchen like I did with Gemma and this smoothie. Since she helped me create the recipe, she was even more excited to drink it than if I had done it myself. Smoothies are also a great way to get extra fruits and veggies into you and your family’s diet.
