Ham and Cheese Panini Dippers from WeeliciousPin

I love the act of dipping. Be it a cucumber in Veg-Wee Dip, a chicken nugget in ketchup, a juicy strawberry in fresh whipped cream or these little Ham and Cheese Panini Dippers in a side of tangy mustard or creamy mayo. There’s something so fun and childlike about dipping your food, and these sandwiches, cut into little rectangles, are tailor made for dunking away.

You can make them on a panini press or even directly on top of the stove, using whole wheat bread, thick slices of cheese and a piece of fresh ham to layer in between. The bread toasts up to a golden brown while the cheese inside gets all melty and gooey.

This dipper is similar to a traditional Croque Monsieur sandwich, but without the required time to make an accompanying beurre blanc sauce (after all, when was the last time you had 20 minutes to spend just making a sauce?!). Instead, I prefer a little side of something else to dip it in mayo or mustard.

Lunchtime is when I usually serve these sandwiches, but they’re a great dinner time recipe as well, especially when you’re short on time. They’re dip-tastic!

  1. Yummy! I know what we’re having for lunch today! Also, this might be a dumb question, but what is that next to the raspberries in those pictures?
