Have you ever tried a Mandarin Snow Cone? Thanks to my partnership with Halos, here’s how it all started.
We haven’t been on a family vacation in years! I live for travel and feel that one on one is always the way to go if you can pull it off, but this year I really wanted a fun filled vacation we could all enjoy.

After months of deliberation (the kids wanted to hit the beach, I wanted history and sightseeing plus we didn’t want to travel too far), we compromised and landed on skiing in Colorado.

The second we touched town and stepped off the plane heaps of snow were falling from the sky and the kids went nuts!

Not even a step out of the airport the kids were jumping on the mounds of snow, making snow balls and tossing them at each other.
After 30 minutes of building up major hunger I was grateful that I had brought a big bag of Wonderful Halos mandarins for everyone to snack on. They’re the perfect choice since they’re packed with vitamin C and easy to peel even for a 3 year old like Gemma.

As soon as we arrived at our condo the kids ran inside to grab glasses and headed back into the cold to scoop up fresh snow to make snow cones.

I thought they were going to enjoy them as is, but went into my bag to grab a few mandarins to cut in half and squeeze on their snow cones. It was so spontaneous and absolutely delicious.

For the next few days we skied from early in the morning to late in the afternoon. Breakfast was bacon, eggs and smoothies, simple peanut butter and strawberry preserves sandwiches and pockets full of Halos to peel and snack on as we rode up on the gondola time after time before whizzing back down the mountain.

At the end of the day we were exhausted, but also totally reinvigorated being outside in the fresh air. The perfect vacation full of fun, food and action for everyone.

I’ve partnered with Wonderful Halos on this post. All thoughts are my own.
