Preparing school lunch for your kids day in and day out can be a challenge for even the most creative of moms. When I ask parents what’s the biggest stress of their day — expecting the response to be either “bed time” or “juggling busy schedules” — more often than not their answer is “school lunch”. In particular, coming up with balanced, nutritious, and delicious meals their kids want to eat.

I recently joined forces with Odwalla to pair some of my favorite simple school lunch ideas with their line of Smoothies For Kids (which fit perfectly in a lunch box, by the way). This video will show you how to make a few of these recipes my kids adore_ Banana Dog Bites, Mixed Berries, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds and Cucumber Slices. This lunch is a great complement to the Odwalla Smoothies which come in three fun flavors_ Grape Berry Prairie, Mango Pineapple Island or Strawberry Banana Jungle. They’re all gluten-free, with no sugar added and come in single serving 6.75 ounce containers along with a straw to add to the fun factor.

  2. You can use sunflower butter instead of peanut butter in most recipes that call for peanut butter! I always have a jar in my fridge!

  4. My little guy just started preschool two mornings so for now we just have to pack snack. The school doesnt allow peanut butter, any tree nuts or seeds due to allergies of some children. I would love ideas for snacks to pack without refrigeration that is free of these ingredients! Thanks for all your wonderful recipe ideas!
