1. Keep the Oven Off

2. Stay Hydrated

Make sure you and your family are drinking lots and lots of water… and then drink some more! The summer heat can easily dehydrate kids, especially when they’re out running around all day long, and likely not taking many breaks. I like to keep reusable water bottles on me at all times so we’re never without a refreshing drink.


3. Wear Sunscreen 

Before you leave the house apply sun screen if you’ll be spending time outside. Continue to apply throughout the day to keep that important barrier on your skin. I like to use Beautycounter sunscreen on myself and the kids because I trust the ingredients in these products to keep my family safe. My kids are obsessed with rolling the sticks on themselves which is a huge time saver for me! 


4. Keep Covered

Wear lightweight t-shirts and hats to keep your skin covered and protected from the harsh sunlight. I’ve been trying really hard to be militant with the kids and myself about covering up for extended periods in the sun. 

5. Make Endless Amounts of Homemade Ice Pops!

Ice pops are fun to make, and even more fun to eat! I keep a major stash in my freezer of every flavor and shape imaginable. You can even get in some extra greens with ice pops!
