We’ve been waiting for months for this moment to arrive_ the weelicious app is finally here!

I love apps, but it bugs me when I get one that doesn’t do much for me. We’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to load this one up with a ton of great features, so it really makes your life easier. Standing in the grocery with no idea what to make for dinner? Simply type an ingredient into the search box and you will be greeted with tons of ideas from the weelicious archives. Not sure how to make a specific recipe? Choose from over one hundred weelicious cooking videos that will show you exactly what to do. Want to see what was in Kenya’s school lunch today or just need a question answered fast? Go right to the weelicious Facebook or Twitter pages where the school lunch of the day is always waiting or touch base with other moms in your shoes.

But I think that hands down, the coolest feature on our new app is the Shopping List. This function creates your entire shopping list and tallies up the measurements so you always know exactly how much of each ingredient to buy. I’ve seen shopping lists on other recipe apps, but never one like this before_ once you have found the recipe you want to make, just click ADD TO SHOPPING LIST and all of that recipe’s ingredients with their corresponding amounts are instantly recorded to an easy to navigate shopping list. Even better, if you plan on cooking several weelicious recipes, the weelicious app automatically creates one master list so you don’t get stuck at the market searching by recipe.

I’ve got more requests for this app than I can remember and many of you said it would be worth it even if you had to pay for it. The most important thing to me when we set out to build the app was making sure it was FREE. And it is!

It’s like having the whole website, and more, with you at all times. This is still a new experience for me, so help us make the app better by giving us any and all feedback on what you like, what you think we could make better and what would improve your experience. We’d really appreciate it. In the meantime, enjoy!

  18. Wow! Very cool! Thank you!

Makes me wonder – how does a person go about developing an app anyways?

  19. First of all, thanks for the app!! I use my itouch often in the kitchen to pull up your recipes on your site already. We are a very weelicious-friendly household and are constantly trying your new recipes!

One thing I’d like to see is a more accessible Search button (maybe instead of the Twitter button – but I don’t tweet, so what do I know?!) Also, it would be nice for the search to generate a list of all the recipes that come up, similar to how your website’s search function runs, instead of sifting through them one at a time. I noticed this when I searched ‘black beans’.

    Just my 2 cents 😉

  20. oh please oh please release a blackberry version! I don’t want to have to go get an iphone just for this!! 😉

  47. Picture-Alert no longer suopprts monitoring web browsing. The main focus of the app is that it captures images which are taken from the camera or images that are stored within the photos app on the device which may come from email attachments, text message images/videos, internet, and when the device is connects via USB to a computer.Any other questions please feel free to email our customer support.
