I’m constantly switching up my daily smoothie ingredients based on my mood and what I have on hand. Sometimes they include berries, tropical fruits, frozen cauliflower or beets, but the two foods that’s a must are protein and greens. This Tropical Protein Greens Smoothie has become one of my new go-to’s in the morning.

While it make look vibrant green, it doesn’t taste “green” in any way, shape or form. Instead it has a tropical flavor from the mango and pineapple that’s addicting. The second flavor you immediately notice is the vanilla. I’m constantly searching for protein powder that offers great flavor, but also tons of added nutrition to keep me and the kids full for hours with a great taste to boot.

When I was visiting my mother in Florida recently I used her Vanilla Bone Broth Protein and was blown away by the texture and taste. Bone broth is an easy way to get all the benefits of an ancient superfood. It’s made with simple ingredients like organic seeds, botanicals, mushrooms that are often difficult to find in a modern diet. It’s also made without dairy, soy or grains, so I’ve been adding it to Gemma’s daily smoothie too.

Since it also comes in a chocolate flavor, I’ve been adding it to Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothies and Chocolate Almond Butter Smoothies too. In my experience, not only does it make your hair, skin and nails stronger, but it’s easy to digest. Pro tip: sometimes I make my smoothie extra thick by using less milk and taking the tamper on my blender to push everything down as I blend. You can eat it with a spoon this way making it almost like dessert or a well deserved afternoon treat!
