Cauliflower Crusted Grilled Cheese Sandwich Video

When you read the title of this post you might envision two pieces of bread sandwiching cheese with big cauliflower florets around it. This beauty of a bread-less creation is so majorly delicious and not what you would expect from a traditional sandwich.

Although it’s perfect for anyone on a gluten-free diet, you don’t have to be avoiding flour to enjoy it. I’m betting that any grilled cheese lover will be immediately smitten after the first crispy bite.

These look amazing - my boys would love - however I don't have a microwave, how long should I steam?! Also - is there a good dairy free/ gluten free option to make them stick together if we don't want to use cheese in them sometimes?

I have cut my cauliflower into florets and steamed them in a pot to make mock mashed potatoes. Then I take them out (wait til they've cooled down) and use paper towels to remove excess water. Then you can pick up the steps Catherine mentions about forming the bread from that point. This should work if you want to omit the micro. Hope it helps :)

Silly question...what are tea towels and where can I get them?

Tea Towels are kitchen towels that don't produce lint. You can find them in the kitchen section of just about any store. You can also look for \"flour sack towels\"!
