I think I've averaged eating two pears a day since they came into season this fall. I will never get bored of eating pears. Ever.
So this Thanksgiving we're making one of the most simple desserts I know, Pear and Pistachio Crisp. You can see from the video that it's simple enough even a 3 and 5 year old can make it. And since you can make it ahead of time, all you have to do is refrigerate it after you make it, so there's practically no last minute work.
Just pop it in the oven while everyone is sitting down to their big holiday meal, so that when everyone's ready for something sweet you will have a delectable dessert that comes out of the oven only needing a big scoop of ice cream.
Now that's something to be thankful for!
