Why is it that whenever I say to my kids, “I’m making French Toast for breakfast” they just give me an ok, mom kind of response, but if say, “I’m making French Toast on a Stick” they can barely contain their cheers of joy. What makes food on a stick so much more exciting? Maybe it makes them more fun to eat. Maybe kids can come up with more creative ways to dip them in syrup. Hopefully they’ll eat even more fruit then usual. Either way, watch this How to Make French Toast on a Stick Video to see a few tips on making them even more easy to whip up in the morning!
Usually I use whole wheat sandwich bread to make the french toast, but lately I’ve been trying a variety of breads like a gluten free loaf, buttery challah, even day old french bread. You can also use any kind of seasonal fruit you’ve got on hand from mango to raspberries to our recent favorite papaya. Fill little dishes with maple syrup, or honey to dip away and watch everything disappear!
