Fresh turmeric turns this warm and comforting drink a light golden color, and also helps to fight inflammation in your body. A crack of black pepper and a fat like coconut oil help activate the turmeric so it can work its magic. Ginger and cinnamon are the perfect warming spices to accompany the turmeric.

  1. A few questions..
My kids don’t like warm/hot drinks. Could I skip step 2 and serve after blending?
Is there any possible way to make this into popsicles or ice cream?
How long will it keep in fridge? Could I make it the night before?

  2. I have been using 1 teaspoon per inch of fresh. Turns out great! I look forward to trying it with fresh when I can!

  3. Ground turmeric is more potent than the fresh. Look at Turmeric Users groups on Facebook. They offer a lot of help and info. Can make up golden paste in advance and keep refrigerated. It needs a bit of cooking first.

  4. If I can’t get ahold of some fresh turmeric root, what would the ground turmeric equivalent be? Thanks, Catherine! Can’t wait to make this!
