Avocado Shake Program

March 19, 2011

We have a big bag of ripe avocados from the farmers market that we bought last weekend, so Kenya asked if we could make one of the kids favorite treats- Avocado Shakes. This video from the weelicious archives will show you how and it also happens to be one of Kenya's favorites as well. If you stay tuned to the very end, Kenya will tell you the secret to why this shake is so naturally sweet.

I recently made this for my 2 and 1/2 year old who has lately displayed an aversion to all things related to vegetables. I substituted unsweetened vanilla soy milk and added honey-=both the banana and avocado were super ripe and over-powering in terms of taste, and I think the soy milk left a bit of a weird aftertaste. My 2.5 yo drank half the shake, which was a big break through. You suggested using agave nectar and I was wondering what other natural sweeteners you could recommend and if I should avoid using soy milk in the future. Will it always leave an aftertaste? Thanks!

This looks fantastic! Im wondering how you get to the typed out recipes of all of your video programs? Or do you not type them out when you do a video?

This is one of the multitude of recipes from your website that I make every week for my family (for more than 2 months now) and we never get bored of it. We modified it a little bit, but it is still awesome. Thank you!
