What if You Don’t Have an Air Fryer?

If you don’t have an air fryer, I’m sure you could bake these in the oven. I haven’t tested it out myself, but I would suggest placing the seasoned artichoke hearts on a parchment lined baking sheet and baking at 400°F for about 15 minutes. Check on them after 10 minutes just in case. Remove from the oven when they’re golden and browned on the edges. With that said, I use my air fryer all the time and think it’s a great investment if you’re on the fence.

Serving Suggestions

Serve air fried artichoke hearts as an appetizer or a side dish. This recipe pairs well with tons of mains including chicken, salmon, pork or they could be a nice addition to a big salad. You could also whip these up as an after school snack when your kids come home and want something to hold them over until dinner!

Seasoning Options

You don’t need a ton of seasonings for these artichoke hearts to be super tasty, but if you’re looking for some other options to experiment with besides the basics, here are some ideas.

  • Lemon Pepper: Gives a bit of a zesty flavor with a tiny kick.
  • Smoked Paprika: Adds a little smoky, slightly sweet flavor.
  • Cajun Seasoning: Infuse the artichoke hearts with tons of flavor and little heat.
  • Herbs de Provence: This seasoning mix usually has flavors like lavender, thyme, and rosemary, adding a fragrant and herbal note.

Dips Options

I always make a quick and easy creamy garlic dip to serve with these crispy artichoke hearts, but if you want to mix it up, here are some other dip ideas that I think would be great!

  • Citrus Herb Vinaigrette: This light and tangy dressing with tons of herbs would complement the artichoke hearts well.
  • Sriracha mayo: For a spicy kick, mix sriracha sauce with mayonnaise for a creamy and fiery dip.
  • Ranch dressing: Ranch is always a classic choice no matter what you’re dipping in it!
  • Cucumber Mint Raita: Light and refreshing, this Greek yogurt-based dip flavored with cucumber, garlic, and mint would be incredible with this crispy snack.
  • Marinara sauce: A simple marinara sauce would also pair well with this recipe.

  1. I’m at a loss. I’ve tried a recipe similar to yours, but I can’t seem to get the “burnt” look that you achieved. My range oven has an air fryer and my instant pot also has an air fryer lid. What’s the secret?

    1. Hi Renee! All air fryers are different so that could be the issue. Try leaving them in longer and make sure they’re spaced out so that they have room to get crispy. Hope that’s helpful!
