My favorite Mother’s Day moment is when my kids show up with a tray before I’ve even gotten out of bed. Some years it’s Avocado Toast piled with toppings, other years it’s Berry Heart Parfaits they’ve assembled themselves. I’ve organized everything below by intention so you can find exactly what you need. And if you’re the mom reading this, feel free to forward it along with zero subtlety.

Mother’s Day Recipes Kids Can Make

These are the recipes simple enough for kids to pull off mostly on their own. Think breakfast in bed, tray-ready bites, and no-cook assembly. The effort is the point.

Avocado Toast
Simple, special, and completely kid-friendly. Set out a spread of toppings and let them go wild.

Berry Heart Parfaits
Strawberries cut into hearts, layered with yogurt and granola. The recipe I'd hand to a child first if they want to do something special on their own.

Waffle French Toast
A classic breakfast that older kids can tackle with a little supervision. Top with whipped cream and fresh berries and it looks gorgeous on a tray.

Mexican Egg & Cheese Quesadilla
Savory, satisfying, and easy enough for older kids to make mostly on their own.

A total showstopper that's much easier than it looks. The dish that has everyone asking for the recipe.
Pin
Ham and Asparagus Quiche
My mom made quiche for every special occasion growing up in Kentucky, so this one feels right for Mother's Day. Serve it warm or at room temperature, which makes the brunch timeline completely relaxed.

Shakshuka
Eggs poached in spiced tomato sauce, served straight from the pan. It looks like you spent hours and takes about 30 minutes.

Veggie Filled Frittata
Endlessly adaptable, easy to make ahead, and slices beautifully for a brunch spread. A recipe I come back to again and again.

Puff Pastry Breakfast Pies
Individual little breakfast tarts that everyone can customize with their own fillings. They look fancy and feel extra special.
Blackberry tea cake cut into squares and dusted with powdered sugar on a white platter with fresh blackberries and a cup of tea.Pin
Blackberry Tea Cake
Not too sweet, which means it works just as well on the brunch table as it does for dessert. Fresh blackberries baked right into a tender, lemony cake, and it disappears fast.
Cottage Cheese PancakesPin
Cottage Cheese Pancakes
The most tender, protein-packed pancakes I've ever made. Top with maple syrup and fresh berries and they're everything a Mother's Day breakfast should be.
Pin
Strawberries and Cream Baked Oatmeal
Assemble it the night before and bake it in the morning. Warm, creamy, and perfectly seasonal for May.
